What is Rising Stars?

Rising Stars is aimed at any employee with the hunger and the potential to move forward in their career. It is an intense training programme spread out over 5 months. You will meet people from all over the company and build bonds that will last through your time with Beds and Bars (and beyond).

Be warned, Rising stars is a tough course to go through. We will challenge the very core of who you are and push you to break boundaries you didn't think possible. The only thing you need is dedication and commitment.

We will teach you financial & business acumen, leadership skills above and beyond Footsteps training, public speaking, and sales and marketing skills. Finally at the end of the project, you will deliver a 20 minute presentation with Q&A to a panel. This programme is about personal growth so be prepared to challenge yourself.

Modules

LEADERSHIP AND SELF REFLECTION

This week we learn all about you, who you are, what are your limits, what are your weaknesses, what motivates you? BE PREPARED to push through your boundaries and rediscover what you can do.

We partner with the Royal Navy and spend 3 days learning about command and leadership, pushing you to accomplish tasks under extreme pressure

SALES AND MARKETING

What makes a good idea? How do you develop it? What can you do to make a difference to the company?

During this week you will start to build on an idea that eventually you will present to the board of directors on “how to improve Beds and Bars”. We will work closely with you to find an idea and grow it all the way through to completion.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Stand up and speak out! This week you will be taught how to face your fears of public speaking and how to deliver a passionate, intelligent and thought provoking pitch. We will train you how to change people's minds via the power of public speaking.

FINANCIAL

How does a company report its finances? What impact can we have on this? During this week we will train you on senior financial thinking and how to create a full balance sheet for a company. You will understand how Beds and Bars works behind the scenes and what drives our business decisions.

Rising Stars was a big yet rewarding challenge. During the different courses that we took I learned an awful lot about my weaknesses and strengths, but the most interesting part for me was working on a project that I believed in so that I could present it to the Board of Directors.

Rising Star was intense and made me really step out of my comfort zone but it’s an experience that I would do all over again. For me I learnt a lot about myself and things I thought I wasn't capable of, I managed to surprise myself. It was also great working with other people within the company and learning from them. Guys jump on this opportunity, over the four weeks of training I learnt so much about my self, I learnt so many different skills that apply to everyday worklife and most of all I met a bunch of sick people. It was intense, stressful and demanding yet so wonderfully rewarding. Rising Stars was a challenging yet amazing experience! It is a very complete training on many different areas that definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone, but it really helps you learn so much about yourself and Beds and Bars.
